"2005-2006 deployments in Iraq during the winter, it gets pretty cold up there especially in a helicopter. We would come home from missions and I would throw a little blanket down for Spike. Myself and one of the snipers would get on last and sit on the ramp of the 47 with Spike. As soon as the helicopter would take off we would chill out for a bit and cuddle up with that dog. Two shooters all cuddled up with a 62-pound Malinois who could heat us both up."
